BARRIER TESTING
Barrier Testing is an effective way to evaluate the crashworthiness of most vehicles. Calibrated sensors provide reliable, detailed data. This type of testing is also used to develop occupant compartment deceleration information for future sled testing or applied mechanics engineering analysis.
The CAPE barrier test facility incorporates a variety of test configurations, including full frontal barrier, 30 degree barrier, offset structure barrier, underrun structure barrier and vehicle-to-vehicle collisions.
Barrier tests can be run at speeds up to 80 kph (50 mph) with payloads reaching 17,463 kg (38,500 lbm). The closed loop control system provides accurate speed and acceleration control for product testing and crash simulation.
CAPE can meet your testing needs with technical expertise and flexible scheduling. We offer a complete range of testing options and provide high-speed digital imaging for advanced test data analysis. Our barrier test facility features a transparent photo pit cover for unobstructed views of the test vehicle's underside.
Through years of experience, we have developed efficient testing methodology, which can be applied to a wide variety of vehicles to document vehicle crashworthiness and occupant response.
