CAPE understands that off-road vehicles and UTVs are designed to perform in demanding environments. While working with our parent company, IMMI, to develop a comfortable, durable seat belt for off-road and UTV riders, CAPE recognized an opportunity for additional crash testing within the UTV market. That experience helped expand CAPE’s work in off-road vehicle and UTV safety testing.
From crashing UTVs into our barrier wall to conducting rollover testing, CAPE helps manufacturers evaluate vehicle performance and occupant protection under demanding conditions. By recreating crash and rollover scenarios, our testing provides manufacturers with valuable information as they work to improve the safety of off-road vehicles and UTVs.
Going the Extra Mile
When IMMI wanted to validate a severe-duty retractor for use in the off-road and UTV market, CAPE went the distance. We developed an exterior test track near our facility with moguls, a bog, logs, rocks, and other obstacles designed to put UTVs and their restraint systems to the test in demanding environments. This capability allows customers to evaluate products under conditions that more closely represent how off-road vehicles are actually used.
